PERSONALITY

Agnes is a creature of the theater life. Caught up in an ongoing fantasy that the world around her is an ongoing play, she is often quite bluntly telling people that they could have done a better job at the emotion that they were attempting to portray or that they missed an opportunity to've made their words more compelling with an action. When she isn't speaking in stage directions or theatrical quotes, she makes little sense. In an ongoing struggle to form her own words and voice, the Ravenclaw's words come out like riddles that she herself sometimes hasn't solved. Each word is thought out and calculated, leaving little room for anything that is completely genuine. As an actor in the play of Life, she can't afford to miss a beat on the perpetual pace. Every word must count, be it something profound or what needed to be said to allude something to the audience. Underneath the sophisticated and whimsical demeanor she holds lies a very fine layer of pessimism towards the world. "The Play" (as she commonly refers to life as) is the only shining light she has; attempting to give a reason to the world being as it is- that it was written to be this way. That people never let her down or hurt her or anything on purpose, but because it was scripted.
In interacting with others, she normally forms friends with someone easier once she has deemed their role in the story. Whether or not that role will stick doesn't normally impair her attempt (and allowing of attempts) to be friendly. While she normally tries to make sure that there is never a dull moment, as to keep the audience interested, it is normally frustrating for everyone else trying to keep up. Just to make the story a touch more interesting she will lie or even play mind games, though, from an outside perspective, it is for seemingly no reason at all. What others think of her mindset and... 'disposition' means nothing, as it just sounds like another part of the script. And the show must go on, after all.

[ L I K E S ] Theater, plays, antiques, poetry, roses, good acting, opera music, keeping things interesting.
    [ D I S L I K E S ] Poorly directed plays/movies, bad writing, sickeningly sweet foods, pureblood politics, silence disrupting noises, shoddy actors.

HISTORY

Enter Mindeulle "Min-Ji" Yi: A young and budding flower picked early from her lofty, upper middle class, countryside flowerbed and arranged to be married into an old pureblood family of fortune. Reminded all too soon that she was not a flower growing free and holding individual beauty, but instead a weed no different from the millions that grow everywhere.
Enter Amerigo "Meri" L. C. Godfrey (Slytherin): A bright, young upstart who was to be the new head of the family when the time came. And for him, it could not come soon enough. Married early and excelling in his studies, he was deemed exceptional by the other members of the family. Though this praise made him garner less and less for the praise of his eventual wife and children.
In the following scenes, the man and woman marry and reproduce before the wife is expected to settle into the comfortable life of a housewife, as per norm in the Godfrey family. The first four children: Male. The fifth: Female. Min always wanted a little girl of her own to raise, but, alas, she came much too late. She was the only dream that the wife could recall from her younger days... Perhaps she was even an attempt at recapturing her youth. Or maybe she just wanted to achieve something with her life that she knew was a goal of her own. After years of growing more and more cynical as her every attempt at trying to make a name for herself was met with a stern reminder of her place, she wasn't even sure if the child- the girl- was what she truly wanted anymore. Even as she stared at the newborn- the life she had created- breathing gently in her arms, the stare was cold and unphased.
Too unsure of her own feelings, she gave the task of naming her to her husband, who named the wilted dream Agnes. (Much later, in a sparse moment of reassurance that she truly did love the girl, she gave her the name Mannon.)
Growing up with four brothers looking out for her and helping her where her parents failed to, the siblings took to raising one another. Though mostly an attempt to help lighten the load their mother bore, they each still greatly enjoyed (and still enjoy) every moment of bonding (whether all of them get along or not). Contained in this portion of her life is a number of filler scenes of 'familial bonding' and some situations here and there that she would rather not have displayed in tonight's performance. But, in this time, she found something peculiar of the world. She found the truth. Be it the truth she needed, or the first truth that found her and allowed her to move forward, the girl came across the wonderful medium of 'theater.' And with it, came the notice that the things happening in her day-to-day life seemed peculiarly remniscient of the scenes portrayed on these stages.
When her magic started to develop, her mother began looking more and more harshly on her growing eccentric habit of treating her like an actor. The child didn't understand her place. She needed to know that the world wasn't a dream world no matter how hard she wanted it to be. Especially in this family. She sent her off to Hogwarts when she bacame of age, everyone expecting her to fall into the Slytherin house, as most in the family seemed to. Only two of her brothers before her were Slytherins and it was creating a poor image for Min that the majority of her children might be failures rather than the minority.
And then the hat called out Ravenclaw. When Merci heard, he instructed her mother not to write to her. Perhaps next year, but this year she needed to understand that she had let them down. Whether or not the 'message' was understood by the child or not has yet to be seen. But in her first few years, she had much more fun with all of the new additions to the Story. She made and lost friends, for reasons ranging from time to problems with her oddities. And she continued on, without a hitch, her interesting lineup of siblings keeping her entertained when the other students and she herself failed to. This Story, she decided, she was content with this far.
